A little challenge

Hi there - so here I am as promised with a little challenge with the chance to win a small prize, which is a stamp and paper pad from Wild Rose Studio;

The stamp is the cute new Bella with Balloons and the paper pad is Spring Fling, with 36 sheets of 12 designs.

So to have a chance to win this I'd like you to make a card, or scrapbook page, or altered art project or any other kind of crafty project with the theme of flowers and butterflies ;o) I have done a couple of cards to inspire you;

Then just add a linky to your blog post with the linky tool at the bottom of this post (if I've done it right LOL). I'll pick a winner with the random generator on April the First.

It would be great if you could let other people know about this challenge too as we might do some more if this turns out to be popular ;o)

Wizard of Oz

Hello ;o) How are you all? I have been having a play with the gorgeous Wizard of Oz papers from Graphic 45 and the Magic of Oz stamps by Crafty Secrets. I thought I would make something up using Studio 490 art parts so I sat down and started to mess around. This is what I ended up with;

Sorry there are so many pictures but I was trying to fit all the little bits in ;o) The tin man is made with craft metal and his heart is hanging on som silver chain. The scarecrows face is on calico - I wanted to do him on hessian but I couldn't get the stamp clear enough! I used Tim Holtz corked vials with some alcohol inks in the represent the lion's courage and the scarecrow's brains. I covered the spool art parts with the Graphic 45 papersand added a little yellow brick road ;o). Dorothy's red shoes are ther along with the wicked witch's legs sticking out LOL. I'm quite pleased with this as I had no idea what it was going to turn ou tlike so it is kinda cute !!

Anyway I will be back tomorrow with a little challenge for the chance to win a new Wild Rose Studio stamp and paper pad - that is if I can get the linky tool to work.

Hello all, well I seem to have been busy of late and also had a trip to the Stitches trade show at the NEC last week. Well I am looking forward to getting the new Distress markers from Tim Holtz along with the new stamping card from Ranger. I am also awaiting stock of the brilliant Dylusions range by Dyan Reavely including sprays, stamps and stencils - can't wait to play with all these things ;o) I am also getting some embellishments along with the brilliant microbeads and adhesive sheets by Creative Expressions. Later on I am also hoping to get some more Wendy Vecchi Studio 490 and the amazing blossom bucket embellies.
On their way too are some new stamps and papers by the fabulous Wild Rose Studio;

This is Bella and she is just too cute. I thought that we might have a little competition to win a stamp and paper pad so watch this space as that will most likely start later this week.

Crafty Secrets stamps.

Hello all - I am just loving all the crafty secrets stamps - especially the little sets which are great for ATCs and small cards. I have made 2 ATCs (which I don't make very often) using Material Girl and Queen Bee which are available here . I used sticky back canvas on card for the base and then painted it and used stencils etc for the backgrounds;

The sewing machine and tailors dummy are stamped onto tissue and heat embossed and them stuck to the card with mod podge. The scissors were stamped on silver card and the thread bobbins on kraft card with some thread wrapped around them. I stamped the 'material girl' and the needle directly onto the card. I stamped the ATC details on the back.

The bees and hives are stamped a d embossed on tissue as before and then mod podged onto the card. I then stamped them again onto Clearly for art then cut out and heated to bend the wings into shape - I then stuck them over the bees with PVA. The 'pure honey, Queen Bee' and the crown are stamped and embossed on to golden coloured card and stuck on with Colall glue gel. I added some of the teeny tiny bees directly onto the card.

My husband, who is bee mad, has taken the queen bee ATC, but I thought I would give away the material girl ATC to someone who might like it. New Stock and back in stock

Hi all, well after a busy end to last year I am hoping to blog here at least once a week so fingers crossed ;o)
On the website we now have the fab Art Parts from Wendy Vecchi's Studio 490

These are made from compressed paper and you can ink them, emboss them, paint them, paper them, sand them, and anything else you can think of. I love them and am working on a project using the spools at the moment and I will post a picture here when I'm done.
There are also a few of Wendy Vecchi's stamps on the website too and there will be more of these soon. I love these stamps, they are great quality and I love the fact that they store on white plastic sheets that can be put in ringbinders for tidy storage.
Back in stock are the Spectrum Noir alcohol markers

They all have the new lids on which are shaped so as to be easier to remove and replace. I have to say that I love Pro Markers but I also love the Spectrums and the price is really reasonable. The 6 packs are £6.99 or 3 for £18.00.
I am thinking about starting upa small challenge blog where you will be able to win a voucher to spend on the website. If anyone would be interested please let me know - I might also need a small design team so bear this in mind too if anyone would be interested in that too. This will be for later on in the year but I thought I would mention it now to see how much interest there might be - if you leave a comment that would be great and pass on to friends etc so they know too ;o)

Hello everyone - apologies for not posting in so long but I have been busy behind the scenes looking for stock and trying to work out details to do some workshops. Anyway, on the site there are new things and I'm adding to them all the time. The Octopode Factory are the newest arrivals with the Aalice in Wonderland range.

There are also great stamps from Crafty Secrets - i think my favourites have to be the Wizard of Oz range;

but I love them all! Anyway I am thinking about starting a challenge blog so if anyone would be interested in that I would love to hear from you and if you would like to tell others so they could perhaps tell me what they think too ;o)

Well I have loads to make so really need to make more of an effort LOL. Anyway, I thought I would post a picture of one I have made using Sheena's Bah Humbug ! 1 stamp set;

I've used only the Chipped Sapphire Distress ink pad for the image and distressing around the edges. The lace and flowers are from my stash but I'm pretty pleased with this card. I hope you are inspired to get going on your own Xmas cards too (although you're probably better organised than me and have probably finished them LOL)

Roly roses and the i-bond

and also their roly roses in fabric and paper;

You just roll these up and they form the cutest flower embellishments for your projects.

Fusion mirror

I thought I would let you see the mirror I have 'renovated' by using Sheena's fusion stamps. It was a horrible brown boring old mirror but I crackled it and painted some daisies on it - I think it's given it a new lease of life;

The paint fusion stamps and paints are available here I'm waiting for a delivery of the new fusion stamps which are the sunflower, tulips and pansies. I have painted 3 little panels to show what they're like;

They'll be on the website soon.
I have some great Stampavie stamps on the site which I'm dying to have a play with so I'll post piccies when I've done that.

More paint fusion.

I thought you might like to see another of my paint fusion boxes. This time it is using the daisy stamps.

I crackled a paper mache box and then stamped the flowers and leaves and then set about painting them which actually didn't take me very long. I then added the DAISY word and embossed it with WOW embossing powders . I finally went around the edges and roughly over the box with some distress ink.
The paint fusion stamps and paints etc are available in store here.

I hope you like this and it might inspire you to give this painting method a go.

Card for a teenager

Well it's a very long time since I was sixteen so I find it quite hard to do cards for teenagers. However, I was asked to do a 16th birthday card for a grandad to give to his granddaughter. I was really worried that what I came up with would disappoint so took ages trying to decide what to do. Anyway here is what I ended up with;

The stamp is from Bildmalarna's Little Winged Friends range, and is called you and me. It is available in the store here..
The papers are Basic Grey - Cappella I think. I cut out her name on my Cricut along with the 16 on the front and inside the card, and distressed all the papers with Distress inks. The image itself is coloured with Aqua markers. The flowers and lace was from my stash.
I thought this was a nice card as not too babyish but representative of how a granddad always sees his granddaughter as a little girl.
I made a nice box for it to go in too.
Well I was still nervous about it but he was really pleased with it so I was chuffed with that in the end. I just hope Jessica liked it too ;o)

More paint fusion

Thought I would post a heart shaped box (2 actually) that I have painted using the paint fusion technique. The stamps and paint are available here.

Sorry there's so many but wanted to show all sides ;o) I really urge you to give this a try if you haven't already, if I can do it anyone can. I am giving the large box to my mum for mother's day so I have lined it with some velvet sticky back paper.
Will probably try the daisies next!

Paint Fusion Card

Hello there. Just thought I would share a card made using Sheena Douglass' new paint fusion range.

Just a simple card but I wanted the painting to be the main focus so I just added a few paper roses which look a different colour on the photo for some reason!

Anyway, for the painting I used the Rose stamp that you can find here . I'm loving this technique and have more to share with you later on in the week.

All I can say is if you're thinking of trying painting have a go at this as it is really quite simple to follow , especially if you get the DVD that shows all the techniques, tips and tricks.

Well I am slowly building up stock levels. I have added some of Sheena Douglass's Paint Fusion range including some of the stamps and paints. I have been playing with this range and I love it - I'll post some pictures later of my efforts. Also up on the site are some stamps from Crafthouse Press - a UK based firm. These include the Dandelion stamps;

These are really cute and already mounted on Kling-on so easy to use.

Also from Crafthouse Press are the 'Fabulous' range;

I just love these little stamps they are so versatile.

Also on the site are the new Tim Holtz Distress Stains which are great for all sorts of projects including dyeing ribbon and trimmings and colouring tags. They can be used in conjunction with the Distress inkpads. I am at the moment waiting for lots more Tim Holtz Idea-ology stock to come too.

Also due is the second issue of the Cricut magazine and also an Ideas magazine which this month is all about embellishments.

Finally I am waiting for lots of Imaginisce products including their brilliant i-bond tool and their super roly rosies which I have been desperate to get hold of.

Hello there and welcome to my new blog - Ladybug Crafts - that is linked to my new online store of the same name!
I hope this is going to be a fun blog to share news of new things coming out and also a place where we will be having some challenges where you can win either a voucher to spend online at Ladybug Crafts or a prize of some craft goodies. There will also be some giveaways where you just have to enter your name to have a chance to win ;o)
